beautiful bike CrazyBiker, how do you find riding position on the FZ1 compared to the 6 for touring?

thanks

FZ1 is sportier but comfortable and more suited. Your body stays in perfect proportion for touring as well as canyon carving (higher and backwards foot position). I didn't like FZ6's bicycle like handlebars so I swapped them for FZ1's but couldn't do much about the footpegs without rearsets/setback plates. Then thought what the heck, I need an actual FZ1 between my legs.. lol

Ohh someone wanted angles:

here are some from my thread http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/15716-beast-has-arrived.html

Some more at the gap recently. Taking it really easy the 1st round through it. Sorry no pics of pegs scrapping as I went there late after 5 pm.

Ok... ehmm.. no FZ6 for N America.. but europe then?

Yesterday they updated the homepage and it's still there.. however when i select a country there is differences.. Germany -> most bikes are greyed without links. Norway -> All looks good. UK -> FZ6 gone and FZ1 has a text on the image "UPDATED"..

Seems those pages are not updated..

Found this on the german page which is an overview of the 2010-models

Europe really gets some nice color schemes for the fz6 and fz1.

Netherlands: no more FZ6-N, and FZ6 Fazer only as Grand Touring model (Ocean Depth).

:(:(:( Yamaha :spank:

We do get the FZ6R though, called the XJ6 Diversion F, which in my opinion is an improvement over the half faired XJ6 Diversion, yet no alternative to the FZ6...

It's a shame that Yamaha isn't offering the FZ6 in the US(I still ride an enduro-2006 XT225). I don't want to sound like a whiner but how come the european market gets a wide variety of choices and we don't? Is it emissions regulations or taste in motorcycles? You would think that as big as this country is, you would see a wider variety of choices. Obviously Yamaha sells the bikes that they offer in europe otherwise they wouldnt offer as many as they do. It seems like the choices are fairly limited as far as "standard/naked" motorcycles go. Just my two cents..

Wow....I JUST found out the FZ6 is discontinued for the US in 2010! I had planned to buy one next Spring. What a shame! First the Ducati Multistrada 620, and now the FZ6. That leaves only the Wee-Strom and Kawa Versys to fill the multi-use, midweight catagory in the USA. Such a shame. I have heard for years about a Tiger 675, but I'm guessing that won't happen now. Pity. RIP Yamaha FZ-6: you will be missed.
