Just wanted to give an update as new FZ6 owner. So far I'm really enjoying this machine. Much different than my 98 concours. After a few weeks of commuting, I think I had her figured out. Great handling, and I love that I can roll it out of the garage with more ease. Best decision i've ever made. I was reluctant because the concours is a great tourer. The FZ6 is not too far behind. There are the obvious differences, but it does well.
Thanks to all who have answered my questions and concerns. I hope to return the favor as I carry on!

The swiss army knife of motorcycles! Hopefully one day Yamaha will put out another true UJM for us but for now we will have to enjoy what we have! I plan on taking my FZ6 across the country at some point. I know she will take me anywhere I need to go
