Anyone know what headlight this is by the way? Bulbs are burnt out... was fun riding in the rain when they went out...

Few more toys

Welcome! I made the jump from a Seca-II to an FZ as well. Your bike looks familiar, maybe have seen it on the XJrider forum?:welcome:

You got it lytehouse!

Sl!p you may have! I really loved my SECA II a lot. But alas, I cannot ride two bikes at once. It would just get neglected as it is.
Took a huge hit on selling that bike, but I got a decent deal on this FZ6R. Just wish the first full day I had it the bulbs didn't burn out :/

Thanks for the welcome!!

:welcome: to the forum Scott,

Isn't that a FZ6 you've got (not a FZ6R) ? undertail exhaust and all. I'm pretty sure

Anyway hope to see you around on this forum, take it easy

BTW my previous bike was the european version of the Seca 2 (XJ600Diversion), it was a great commuter

Welcome aboard!!

Ya, looks like you're at the right base camp! FZ6 no "R"....

Turbo > 28mm.... What's that all about? Drift machine in the works?
2JZ would have had plumbing for 2!

Hmm. I really thought it was an FZ6R but I need to double check. Would the model be on the title?

It is 100% an 04 though. As per the title.

Haha, I love my IS300!! Factory Manual Sport Design.

That is a 1989 Cressida with a 2JZGE NA+ T non VVTI motor.

60MM rear overfenders that delete the rear doors. GT4088r turbo. *trying* to make a drift machine. But it's a lot of work.

Fun fact Yamaha designed the heads on all 1jz and 2jz motors.

That is a USDM FZ6-S that someone likely dropped, damage the front fairing and made it a street fighter with that aftermarket headlight setup. FZ6R didn't show up till 2009/2010 and the original FZ6 has 97hp, the newer FZ6R surprisingly has only 78hp. You got a great bike if you got it cheap.

Oh cool! What is the FZ6-S have that the FZ6 doesnt? Or is it the same?

Yeah it was probably dropped, I bought it from a friend for an extremely low price. There's a bigger sprocket on it too. It's a LOT of bike for me.
Front end likes to come up a lot. Fun times

Thanks for the nice welcome and all the nice compliments. I hope to chat with you all more :)

The FZ6-S is the same as the FZ6 on other countries. The US version just had an "S" on the end which indicates that it has a front fairing and is not a naked bike from the factory. It's a great bike, I've had my 2006 since it was brand new and don't plan on upgrading it, it's a great all around sporty motorcycle that can be ridden long distances without needing spinal surgery.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Why are stock FZ6 gauges so expensive? Anyone have any good aftermarket alternatives? 475$ for a gauge cluster seems ridiculous.

I am currently clusterless.

That bike is undoubtedly an FZ6, minus the R. Underseat exhaust, engine block colour, and the grab bars. If the gauge goes up to 14K before redline, that will also tell you. Frame colour seems to indicate it's an earlier, 04-06 model.

How much did you pay?

Awesome! WOO TOYOTA!

Also... I paid 2500$ for it.

I might have overpaid.. but I knew the previous owner for 3 or 4 years.. So I know he took care of it.

This bike is AWESOME! Scares me when the front comes up at 60

Definitely a big boy bike. Do not miss the XJ at all.

Okay... maybe a little.
