I feel like I'm missing out on quite a lot. Suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the history, yeah that is a huge loss for this community, sorry to hear and see. Bummer.
I have been off this forum for a very long time, but i have posted thousands of photo's on here over the years, lots of mine have been lost i have noticed, mainly in the old threads, it's a pity, but that's the internets for ya!
I used "Mothers Aluminum and Mag Polish". No steel wool, just lots of elbow grease and buffing. If you ride in the rain often, your probably wasting your time. Re-do them maybe every 3 months, takes maybe a half hour. The front fender extender helps a little bit too...
For chain lube I use "Pro Honda high performance chain lube with White Graphite.
The only place it throws is under the front sprocket cover, the back wheel stays clean.

Another tease:
[/QUOTE]Yes sir! What are you using for polish? I just bought a used FZ6 and mine are a little discolored, would love to have mine shine like that. Also, what brand chain lube do you recommend?

I used powder coat [emoji12]
How are those holding up?
I grabbed these used off fleebay S1 and fitted them to the S2 chassis. They were rough like yours but with some effort, they can be brought back. It is a thin nickel plating so going nuts on them will just lead to more rust...
Maybe consider a lower cowling to defend them?
A month later and some rain and back to this...
I think Joe's are ceramic coated (done exactly for exhaust pipes) and holds the heat in (popular with the first gen FJR's as heat WAS an issue).
I like the chrome better too but where you live, the coating would probably be better. Perhaps they have different colors, match they bike, silver, etc?
Joe, are they ceramic coated or just powder coated?
