Are you pulling the clutch in? There are three checks for the bike that will cause it to either not start, or stall.

Clutch safety switch - this is up by the clutch lever and should be fully out when the clutch is pulled in.

Side stand safety switch - this is by the side stand and should be in when the side stand is up.

The third is the neutral indicator, and obviously tells when the bike is in neutral or not.

Check both of the safety switches, and make sure they actuate correctly and then try again. If the side stand is ever down, putting the bike into any gear will cut the ignition.

Check that your side stand is all the way in the up position you may have to check your side stand switch to see that it has continuity.:)
