So in my search for new wheels I came across a 2006 CBR600RR, nice black one.

I have to say pretty nice bike, has anyone had any experience with them ?

The riding position is different of course and that is my main concern, I am wondering how uncomfortable it will get on road trips. Being in SK, everything is far away.

Any feedback would be great.

im going supersport next week too. ride a supersport for some miles and see. i dont have problem with riding position. i had problems with sticky on-off clutch, ****ty FI mapping on low rpms, clunky gearbox and crap aerodynamics that the fz6 has.

crap aerodynamics? its a mid-range tourer, not a wind-tunnel busa.

I agree! Don't be Hatin!

The FZ6 is an awesome bike. Find a better bike for the bucks. You won't! I've surprised many a sportbike on my FZ6. Yes you can always desire better components and performance but watch some video of the FZ6 on the track. Some of the rider's and FZ6's are very fast. I'll always miss my FZ6.

The 600RR is a great bike my son has one and loves it!

one thing, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY FZ6, but~!! im sick of some things on it. i try to explain but people get mad!! maybe because its an fz6 forum ?? hehe.

i did 1600km 1 week ago and it didnt ask a thing (except gas) i rode to roads you dont even think a supersport could. (you know these greek islant small roads? oh dont you? i hope you will!)

BUT
yeah the aerodynamics are CRAP, i headbang all the time, passenger too. im sick SICK S-I-C-K of this behavior SICK!!!!

i thought it was riding position, changed the bars. no.
i thought it was the screen, changed, no.
i thought it was the helmet, changed, no.
so, after 21.000km bye bye fz6, nice to have you for four years but my ass now asks for a supersport seat!
i dont want it for the sport riding!
i want it for the smooth riding!
im scared to go fast.
im scared to do a round the block without helmet
im scared on the bike all the time
but, trying the zx-6r for 200miles i loved it! passenger too.

Oh Yeah the 6R and 600RR's are clearly great bikes.
Nah, It's not just because it's an FZ6 forum. You won't find a combination of fit, finish, performance and engineering for the money that beats this bike. I think you could want a sport bike and all the refined goods it has but If I could have afforded it I would have kept mine to keep along side the R1. Sure the super sports are great but everyone has different physiology and the FZ6 seems to work great as well as perform in all arenas for a lot of folks with out having to be a super sport. You can easily find bags and aftermarket add-ons that morph this bike into a touring ride and still shred canyons. There are various mods and performance enhancement that wake up the hidden potentials in this bike and enhance handling.
Don't Be Dissin Our FZ6!! :spank: :rof:
Oh! wait! There's more! http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-...y-do-you-love-your-fz6-so-much-3-reasons.html

Hope you enjoy your new bike!

You want a supersport for sport riding but are scared on the FZ6 .. I mean.. come on :D My FZ6 fully stock kept up with a SP2 up to 230km/h.. I've seen enough movies on youtube of a proper rider on a FZ6 on the track smoking all the supersport just because he knows how to ride. My 2009 FZ6 is awesome and I'm already keeping up with, if not beating, supersports on the roads. A piece of straight road is fun.. for about 20 seconds then I'm bored.. So if you want a 600RR go for it! It's an awesome bike! The only reasons I didn't buy a 600RR is because I can't afford it (I don't buy used bikes) and my passenger is in a crappy riding position.

But don't blame your driving (I presume anyway because my bike runs smooth, is fast, I'm not scared etc).

After four years I might get a SS aswel but I'll always keep my FZ6 for sport touring.. I'll never diss my bike :Flip:

Hobbesca: you hurt my FZ6's feelings! Seriously, I think one day (maybe within 6 months) I'll look at R1's. I am attracted to the more efficient, less wind resistance seat position of the supersport (and of course the increased power). But, nevertheless, I feel that I am a member of the supersport "family" because supersport riders ALWAYS initiate or return waves with me on my FZ6. Harley riders are basically too stuck up with themselves---at least with non HD riders.

I'm assuming your talking about wind buffeting. Yea I got that a little with the stock wind screen when I had a passenger, swapped it out for the puig racing screen and bingo it's gone. (I didn't even do the swap for that reason either, I did it for the looks) (bonus)

When i had my Fizzer i watched a bloke on a Gixxer 1000 , knee down in corners & checkin' his 6 wondering how on earth 4 naked 600's could be monstering him :D  Now thats what i like

I will choose a CBR600RR anyday over the FZ6! It can be only my experience with the bikes I had but the CBR600RR is the smoothest bike you will ever come across, I know, it doesn't make sense because it is a lot more powerful than the FZ6.

Just take the CBR for a spin and feel the throttle response and the gearbox is very smooth:wav:

Unfortunately I sold my CBR and replaced it with a FZ6 two years later, I miss the CBR600RR like mad!!!:BLAA:

I know the guy who is selling the bike so he let me ride it yesterday for pretty much the whole day.

The throttle response is amazing and it is a little smoother than my FZ6 was, but I am not sure about the riding position. That being said I was in a shop on wednesday and there was a 65 year old guy in there who has a gixer 750 so I am not sure if I can complain about the riding position.

The main issue is coming down to price, i have found a few FZ6's in AB that are cheaper, and that even figures in going to get them and all of the taxes.

I think i will have to make a trip to AB and go that way. Plus there is a really nice red one for sale, and from what i understand the red ones are faster than the blue.:BLAA:
