StormShield Heated Motorcycle Gloves
Several mates have also purchased and whilst a lot for a pair of gloves they do seem to work. they can get very warm if you are sitting in traffic but on the road the wind chill makes them sort of a "neutral" temperature.
Agree on the detachable muffs as...
always going to be personal preference but i find heated grips burn your palms and the backs of your hands still freeze. Purchased these two winters ago would swear by them in keeping your whole hand at a perfect temp. not hot, not cold, just right

pretty much any mirror you buy will come with the Yamaha reverse thread adapter. I've had three and changed mirrors on all of them and all mirrors from different suppliers from $10 to $100 came with the adapter
I have an FZ1N (after having had an FZ6N for a year) and an R1. They are an awesome combination and whilst i commute on the FZ the R1 comes out every weekend its not raining and a grin from ear to ear.
Have you ridden the R1? if not, don't unless you intend to buy it (would be my advice)
I'd...
Hi David
How's it going, long time no speak/meet?
Not sure if i told you i sold my FZ6N and upgraded to an FZ1N - AWESOME! Not all good though as sold it too a work mate and three weeks later a cager pulled out on him and a broken arm, wrist and finger later the bike was a write off. went to...
A Dainese in my Dainese jacket and a Dainese back protector that i wear under my regular leather jacket. Built into my Dainese one piece (for when i'm on the R1)
I "upgraded" to an FZ1 after selling my FZ6. Test ride one, trust me it is a totally different bike but the R1 power plant is awesome. It may look a lot like the FZ6 (only bigger) but there the similarity ends. the frame is totally different as are the forks and shock. together with the 190 back...
I fitted the genuine Yamaha fly screen and am very pleased with it. it clearly will not take all of the wind off you but its enough to take the sting out of it and allow you to comfortably sit at 100mph (should you so wish). also did a great job in keeping a lot of road crap off me through the...
Re: ASAP help question number 2
+1 to reiobards advice about the point of no return. having changed my oil every 2000mi and filter every 4k, i do it in my sleep now.
Never ending debate about how often you change your oil but i have a friend that has put 150k mi on a CB500 honda with this...
Re: ASAP help question number 2
unless its different in the US than the UK you do not get an oil filter wrench with the tool kit. You either need to buy one or the free option is to use a pair of pipe grips to go round the filter or punch a screwdriver into the side and turn. Sure there will be...
sorry can't help you with the comfort seat but could not help but say "wow, bet you're really pleased with the upgrade!"
After you've run it in enjoy with the rest of us the front wheel lifting on its own as you accelerate hard and it hits 10k, pure pleasure
have fun and stay safe
+1 to wolfman. I have the naked and fit the yamaha fly screen when going long distance/touring and it is more than adequate at keeping the worst of the wind/elements off and is fitted/removed in 2 minutes.
