Now, on the topic of lane splitting in general, and the dislike of it by so many cage-drivers in particular, I just don't get it...I would bet anything the majority of drivers - if they *could* maneuver their cages in such a way as to better move through traffic - would...and DO, when the space...
Seriously...WTF was THAT???
I have a headache and heart palpitations from watching the Russian video...and I couldn't stop.
I feel...violated.... :Flash:
I don't normally, though it doesn't take long before a stiletto gets caught on a peg or the nylons start pulling at my leg hair before I realize I am clearly in the wrong gear...
:BLAA:
I want it bad enough I can taste it, but the acquisition department (read:wife) says it's not approved for funding ATM....
VERY disappointed, given the price, but alas, the stars are not aligned for me.
Provided it doesn't go fast (and I suspect it will), I'll keep working it...but with...
I was careful not to come off as a tool; unfortunate as it is (and it is) he worked very hard for the result.
It was not an accident, it was probably a long history of questionable decisions culminating in a crap-ass ending by anyone's measure.
But he DID choose amongst a limited number of...
Main reason I am against helmet laws...it works against the forces of Darwin, as noted before. :P
I do not wish ill-will on anyone, but, dang it, this guy got what he EARNED...
Ugh.
I did it at work, as I was leaving. Sat in the saddle, popped the kickstand up, shot off a text message, packed the phone into the tank bag, put on gloves, and thought, "Wonder if I locked the top case?"
Leaned to get off the bike to check, and with style and grace, down she went...
+1 on the hairspray.
Hairspray rocks; let it "cure" overnight, holds tight, and relatively easy to remove should you need to.
If you can find it, Aquanet is like the JB Weld of hairsprays.... :BLAA:
Love my MRA, usually set it two notches down from fully extended up. 6'1" and I find it to be the best balance between the stock screens and the potential of "no" airflow to the body. Consistent airflow up to super-legal speeds on closed circuits, according to professional drivers who tell me I...
I've been saying the privilege of driving should be proceeded by the experience of motorcycling for years, if for no other reason than more people than not are too lazy and/or distracted to stick to the overhead of riding a bike for any length of time, and would soon give-up the pursuit...
I went with FZ1 bars for the less-angled grip position, and was completely satisfied with THAT result.
I use 1" up, 1" back risers as well.
My only complaint: the bars require being turned "up" a tad to prevent the controls from hitting the tank at full lock.
You can feel the slight...
I might even be inclined to trim it a tad if there is a "flapper"...loose material can be a hazard, but that there is a new "valley" now is no different from an integrity perspective than the numerous "valleys" the manufacturer put there.
I liken it to a parachute that - for some reason - fails while it is packed.
If it can't survive merely existing, how in the heck am I supposed to have confidence it will survive under the stress of doing what it is supposed to do?
I simply don't want to take a chance it won't work as...
Well...I certainly didn't get my money's worth.
Less than 5 months, bike hasn't been down with them on...the guards are pristine sans the broken plate, quite literally in the EXACT same place.
Went to change the oil yesterday, was looking to eyeball the drain plug to see if it might be...
Thank you for this thread...I have had my Givi engine guards for just short of 5 months, and they broke sometime in that range in the *exact* same spot.
Not trusting OEM, have a friend welding them up...
I'll report back....
Non-Newtonian stuff, highly engineered for this purpose, has probably been in your hands before...Silly Putty has this same property (to a different degree, of course) if you want to play with the concept.
I used to create an arch from the stuff, mold it over my finger, and strike it with the...
