Hi all, for people who need a frame cap I ordered and fitted 45mm plastic tube cap with great success, its only £1 free postage uk and they fit the right hand side hole nicely just need pushing in a bit and they stay there and I think look miles better than the hole and nut even though its...
Hi all,
I went to fit my FZ6 Chinese naked conversion tonight and ran into a problem. I've not really seen this mentioned but it's bugging me and I'm not sure that I can just let it be as it is. For a little background the headlight stay with the kit I ordered was absolute rubbish so I...
.... so in the off-season, I undertook a needed valve adjustment. It was detailed and slow going, but everything seemed to go as planned......until it came time to reinstall the valve cover. The new gasket was fighting me to stay flat against the valve cover, so I smeared a little RTV on the...
Thought I'd share a little story about those who work on others homes.
Long story short I was asked if I could help install a TV and cable box in another room of modeler home built in ~2000. When purchased by current owner 6 years ago a called was made to comcast to to install cable boxes, a...

Hello all, I'm relatively new to the forum since I bought my 2006 FZ6 in June of this year. I have FINALLY made the exhaust upgrade to a set of remus pipes and no longer have a need for my stock muffler. It has been drilled out to 3/8" with a hole saw for a little more sound but it honestly just...
Hey all,
been a while since I've done some modding on my bike. But finally I got to work and this is the result :)
For those interested - it is a fairly easy mod to do. The most important thing is this
Home made adapter to fit the mounting holes. I went with the front mounting hole...
Does anyone have an idea of what this guy is? it appears to be tapped into the main harness, near the "ECU". This bike does have malfuntioning LED turn signals, so maybe it was some sort of lighting control(Previous owner had neons maybe?) or some type of primitive fuel/ignition controller? The...
There comes a time when every bike must hit the ground due to operator error! Yesterday the EVIL Gravel took us out! Mind you this is 22,XXX miles and 5 years later and its the first time I've dropped her. :(:( Although I did find her resting on her side once as the centerstand sank in the hot...

Although this was solved some time ago, a picture brings it home right! That is the infamous "WEEP HOLE" which connects all spark plug galleys allowing water and oil (God forbid) to drain from the spark plug boot area should the caps allow moisture in...
I just got a Givi topcase and mounting for my bike, and according to the instructions - which are horrible, by the way - I have to remove this part and replace it with theirs to mount the support bracket. The Yamaha part is 90338-21145-00 "PLUG,SPEC'L SHAPE."
Any ideas? I put vise grips on it...
:disapprove:
Okay, I had to change my battery this afternoon. Pulled the old one, no problem, got a replacement, and started to install the new one. An hour and 45 minutes later, I have given up.
The battery terminal is an upside-down "U" with a hole in the top for the cable bolt, and a...
Just a couple of tips for doing this:
The bar you need is Yamaha part number 2D1-26111-02.
This part supersedes 2D1-26111-00 and 01.
Note that it is NOT the same part as 2D1-26111-11-do NOT order that one, it is the wrong bar.
When installing the new FZ1 bar you will need to drill a...
