    Tank side pads suggestions?

I've never had side tank pads, but would like to give them a try. Dropping $75 for a set of SnakeSkins seems dumb, but the cheaper FZ6 alternatives get bad ratings. I'm liking the idea of clear instead of black, but can't find any for Fz6. I see a lot of clear options for other bikes for...

Posted this on "How To's" just looking for a little more exposure. Getting ready to change out brake pads for the first time. Brake caliper upgrade

Hi, I own a '06 FZ6 N (Euro spec, 98 hp) and are considering upgrading from the stock floating calipers, to some 4 pots either from a R6/R1/FZ6 S2 - have anyone done this mod, and if so, would like to share some experience? Like, how much of a difference it makes? Furthermore, any troubles...

New to maintenance: are my rear brake pads supposed to be touching like this?

This is from a 2011 FZ6 S2. I noticed that the rear brake pads rub against the disk. I can hear the rubbing when the bike is moved in neutral, but it generally rolls OK. I think that I've been riding it like this for at least a few weeks. Is this a problem? I'd like to remove the brake...

    Brake pad recommendations

Anyone used these volar brake pad sets sold by d2moto on amazon? Super cheap, but if they work I'll get two. If they are truly garbage (which is where I'm thinking) where do you guys get your pads from? Tried using the search function but when "Brake" has no matching results I'm doing something...

    Front brakes - some questions

Sorry for another brake thread, but I have a couple of questions. I've just done the winter maintenance on my 2004 FZ6. OEM pads still had 3/4 left so i put them back in. I cleaned pistons, and scraped some crud from the side of the pads (didn't touch the surface though). My holder plates...

EBC Sintered Double-H Brake Pads –Too good and not allowing the triggering of the brake switch?

Recently, I had my tires changed. During the tire change, I learned that my front brake pads were worn and required changing. So, I ordered the EBC Sintered Double-H Brake Pads. Anyway, I found with the OEM pads that I had to squeeze really hard for them to really grip, and I was hoping that...

    100k Mile Club

I bought the bike new in April of 2007. Got much tougher to log the miles once I moved to Idaho, so damn cold and there is always a lot of snow and ice during the winter. Some amazing facts about the bike, I am still on my original front brake pads and rotors, and original clutch. Original...

    Glazed discs?

My front discs are a bit glazed, affecting braking. Pads and discs still have plenty of meat on them so I'd like to save them if I can - is this possible? My inclination is to scuff the discs and pads with some 800grit wet and dry, lube up the calipers and see what happens - feedback...

    Front brake question

Hi all, just another quick question.... So i took it home and took out off the caliper and removed the...

Rotors, Pads, Steel Brake lines, Speed Bleeders

The FZ is 49 miles shy of 33k miles. Almost every week this summer, I have taken her out to the mountains for a near 200 mile round trip which naturally is mostly filled with curves, corners, and twisties. After my last trip this week I have increasingly becoming annoyed with the amount front...
