Going from 60k to 70k miles took me two years because I stopped commuting as much.
2007 FZ6 -- original owner -- lots of tires, front brakes, chain and sprockets (once at 45k miles), two clutch cables, 1 battery, 2 air cleaners, bunch of oil changes... that's it. still runs and looks like new (always garaged), not a scratch on it.
I just replaced the spark plugs for the first time! The old ones had huge gap, but had good color...
I still haven't adjusted the valves yet....ever.
best advice I can give is:
I could get up to 11k on Bridgestone Batlax tires until I switched to Michelin Street Pilot's which get me 19k miles.
EBC brake pads last longer
use OEM Chain and Sprockets (got 45k miles before I replaced em, i'm still running on second set)
...No valves done ever? Wow, they probably out of specs now. Do you feel any difference or sound on how the engine works? I wonder if out of specs valves give any feedback or warnings.
Welcome to the club :cheer:
I have 72000 miles on mine at the moment, but Kenny is still the master
Since he bought his Duc, he's not putting as many miles on his FZ6. Maybe ya'll can catch up now.
I'm sitting just shy of 105k miles
Sounds like a challenge to me Cloggy...
over 70,000 miles.... I was thinking I bet not too many people have had to replace this!
when ordering my new chain/sprockets from Yamaha, i remembered to get this for $4.66 (Cover, Shift Pedal)
ooops, I forgot to take a picture of it installed, oh well.
