Well, as a few of you lot know, i bought an FZ6 Cup bike earlier this year, with the intention of racing it in the now defunct FZ6 Cup... Never actually made it to the grid on the FZ6 cup bike, due to the fact, that i had a hiccup along the way....a ride day "off", or more specifically, a highside at somewhere between 120-140km's/h, which left "Pinky" a bit bruised, but definitely not broken, and me with a rather nasty busted hand, and chipped ankle! OUCH!

Then just when i was getting my act together to maybe compete in the last round or two of the FZ6 Cup this year, the series fell apart, with a round being cancelled, majorly small interest from other FZ6 Cup bike owners...2 entries at first round, 1 entry at second round, and thosre that did turn up, were lumped in with the superstock cup bikes...

So in the end, Race, we did not!

Will still be getting "Wolfman Racing" up and running, starting this summer, with a bit of "Bracket" racing locally...but that will be on a different bike...and yes, i do have a new race bike coming together as i write this...

But in the meantime, it was time to do something with my FZ6 Cup bike, 'Pinky".....as a race bike, she is virtually "obsolete", but as a road bike, she is worth quite a bit of money to sell, especially as i got all her brand new road gear....never used, with her when i bought her....so i decided it was time to rob "Pinky" of all her good racing bits, and chuck them on "Damien", my ongoing street "Performance" oriented, Naked FZ6N.

Anyway, to cut what is turning into a very long story, today, we finished the "re-build" of "pinky", back to pretty much 07 fz6 OEM spec for the road...apart from Racetech fork internals, and a 06 seat, and 06 swingarm...

And now she is almost ready to go on the market....with a few extra's to be offered "on the side" to any possible buyer...such as an ohlins rear shock, valtermoto rearsets, and frame sliders...

Here are a few photo's of the bike....

1st shot is "Pinky" as i bought her....

2nd shot is "Oinky".."Pinky" in disguise as a road bike, with just about all her FZ6 running gear, except the race glass, and with the crude addition of a set running lights....and "Damiens" original orange tank...

3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th shots...pinky after her highside!!!

And finally photo 7 thru to ten....."Pinky" re-built and ready for the road, and sale! Will be taking photo's ogf the bike with both the orange tank, and the original pink tank, and will be offering bike for sale with either tank fitted....

She still needs a good detail, a change of tyres....replace race tyres, for road orientated tyres, and those ohlins stickers need to be gone too...

Rode her to work tonight, and i gotta say, she rides and looks like a brand new bike....with only 5700km's on her gauges....engine runs as smooth as, and gearbox is just great...and with the Dunlop Qualifier RR's habing on to the road...she handles pretty well too!

Someone is going to be buying a real nice FZ6...with a history, unlike most other FZ6's......this definitely is a "once off"....07 FZ6 race bike, turned road bike, with 06 OEM tank, 06 swingarm....

Nice! How much do you want for it?

How much for the Ohlins rear shock by itself?

What's that new track bike you're talking about? :D

Dunno what i am going to ask for it yet, but decent 07's with low kilometres are fetching $8500 in Australia at the moment...

The Ohlins shock, Valtermoto rearsets, and Frame sliders....all together as a package...about $850 australian....new, all three together would cost about $2200 in Australia.

As for a track bike...well, i still have the Woodcraft clip on's, GYRT race pipes, and i have new Race glass coming to use on "Damien"...who will be temporarliy converted for a track day, and taken to the track soon,

I am also looking at a Ducati 916 with all the good Ohlins, Termignoni, and Ducati Corse bits at the moment, which would be converted to a track bike....

It's either that, or find a R1, CBR1000, GSXR1000, or something similar, that is already a track bike....for a bit less money!

But the 916 is very tempting, and at a very good price...with only 7500km's on it!!!

Nice! Good luck with it all... looking forward to seeing the new track bike... whatever it ends up being.... my recommendation though: go with a Jap bike... fixing a Jap bike is going to cost you MUCH less than a 916 Duc lol... but you already know that...

for one that hasn't been raced/crashed at the track yeah :D

Wouldn't be interested in selling the Ohlin shock by itself? I may have a buyer :)

Yes, as a Ducati owner already, i knowhow much the buggers cost to maintain!!!! But, to own a piece of "Motorbike Porn" would be just lovely....And no it has'nt been crashed, or used as a track bike.

If common sense prevails, i will most probably end up with an R1....cant beat Yamaha reliability!!!!

As for the Ohlins shock...it is "only" the base model, with preload adjustment, and rebound damping...not the "full biscuit" like i now have on Damien....with ride height adjustment, and compression damping...

Is still a big improvement over stock rear suspenders on an FZ6 though....

I would look at selling it seperately to the right buyer, at a good price....

I would hv jumped on that ohlins package if my 6 wasn't going up for sale. I hv my eyes on a ohlins for the 1 and most likely getting the 1125cr.

Having used both types of Ohlins shock for the FZ6, The Ohlins shock with the remote adjuster, and ride height adjustment is the one you really want to go for if you can afford it...the ride height adjustment, and the compression damping are welcome additions to the package....
