Hi Guys.

Has anyone fitted any additional lights to their bike?
I have just bought a 2004 FZ6S and this is my first post.
I have the bike two weeks and have done 1200km on it. It's my first japanese 4 cylinder and after 12 years of BMW's it is taking some getting used to but i'm going to enjoy getting used it.
Think i'm gonna enjoy the forum too.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum and not spending any more weekends at the BMW shop!

Great place and LOTS of valuable info as well as great folks..

For the rear, I have (and love) my Hyperlights: Hyperlites Flashing LED Motorcycle brake lights, Running Lights and Turn Signal

I have a single 16 LED running light / flashing brake on the rear.
Super bright, much brighter than the single rear OEM bulb,
extremely visable..

I have mine mounted just above the tag:

Thanks for the reply Scott, but I was thinking more about a pair of front mounted driving/spot lights to increase my conspicuity. The flashing brakelight would be illegal here and as a state driver tester it wouldn't look good to be seen breaking the law in such a manner.
Because my BM's were 1990 models I didn't have to frequent the dealers all parts were mail order from a proper specialist in the UK. I haven't given them up altogether, still have an R100GS which needs some tlc and semi-retirement.
So far with the FZ I am amazed at how versatile and easy to ride it is, most of my recent mileage has been on K100RS which needed a strong hand to be ridden at pace on our twisty bumpy B roads, but it did have comfortable seat.

Ok,

I don't have them but Hyper lights also make driving lights (peek around that link I sent) that look pretty bright and aren't terribly expensive.

PIAA also makes driving lights but their a bit more expensive and physically larger.

Keep in mind, the FZ does not have a whole bunch of excess voltage / amps for lots of high draw farkles..

Something to look into (and highly recommended if you don't have it) is the BD43 headlight mod.
Basically, a one wire add on mod. Instead of just one LB headlight, it lights up both sides. When you click on your HB, that bulbs LB element goes OFF. An additional forward light for visibility and you won't look like you have a headlight out!
It actually plugs into the factory harness with NO cutting.

Other folks have done mods for the headlights. I don't ride a bunch at night but did install and love the PIAA Powersport headlight bulb upgrade.
Same amp draw, more lumens of light (again a plug and play farkle); Halogen Motorcycle Bulbs

For your perusal, here's a video of my bike (doing a cold start charging system check) but it does show BOTH my low beams on.
You shouldn't have any issues legally with these:

I mounted a pair of these to the fender mounting bolts on my FZ6. I wired them using one of his dimmers so that on lo beam they were on about 50% power, but when I hit the high beams they came on full power.

I have these on my bike - DENALI DM Micro Single Intensity LED Lighting Kit with Full Wiring Harness & M8 Mount | TwistedThrottle.com They are very bright and come with 2 different lenses (flood/spot) based on what you are looking for.. I have the floods on mine to see wider due to the rural area I ride with lots of wildlife. Also during the day makes me more visible.. I got mine on Ebay for about $100 that were never installed
