It is Anzac Day today (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_day - for our overseas forum members :))

Went to the dawn service at the Bullsbrook RSL. There was a good turnout. RAAF had a flyover. The RAAF, Singaporian Air Force and the Gurkhas were there paying their respects.

It's always an important day for both Mike and myself. A day to show our respect for all who have fought or given their lives to make this such a great, free country.

The Ode

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

LEST WE FORGET

Up at dawn this morning and went down to the local RSL, they do a march around to the local Memorial Park. Then, all the diggers and public return to the RSL for a hearty Bacon and Eggs brekky, along with a few Rum-n-coffee's.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget.

Yep, our RSL has the Gunfire breakfast - $5 for the public (full cooked breakfast) and free for servicemen/women.

Make a donation to the RSL and you get free beer until midday too :thumbup:

It's the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipolli on 25 April 2015.

It would be pretty amazing to be there for the dawn service.

It is 4 years away - maybe we'll go :)
