Australian Gp Results - SPOILER

Don't know about anyone else, got my pass to Spiesville last year the very 1st time I ever seen him race WSBK.

Yep, i was on board that bus not that long after i arrived at PI for the 1st round of the World Superbikes last year...1st time at the track, 1st time in WSBK, puts the Yamaha on Pole!

I think the Ducati has been a dog since the 800cc rules came in, but it was so much faster than the rest it did not matter. Once the rest caught up power wise it has been shown for its true nature.

Yeah, The Ducati has always had plenty of grunt, but the Yamaha has never been exactly slow, nor the Honda...in fact the Honda is probably the fastest bike now...Dovizioso topped the top speed chart on the weekend...and by quite some way!
327km/h...at the end of the main straight, before tipping into turn one....interestingly, the best the Ducati's could muster was about 318km/h...but Stoner recorded the fastest time for each of the 4 sector's in a lap for the race...meaning that he was faster than everyone just about everywhere on the track...The Ducati could'nt of been handling too badly...

The data for the race analysis, and sector times is here...makes interesting reading...

And as for lap by lap, Stoner was faster than Lorenzo on all but 2 laps...but by less than .5 of a second, just about every lap....

Both Stoner's & Lorenzo lap times over the race are incredibly consistent...not one "bad" lap so to speak from either of them...

Check it out...

Stoner got the breakaway and ran with it, but that was on yawner of a race. And of course just at the end of the race, with the dice for 3rd going on, the camera cuts to Stoner winning. Not to rain on his parade, but we FINALLY get a good dice, with Rossi and Hayden, and we cut....ugh...

Honestly some of the best racing is the AMA's Daytona Sportbike; great riders, mostly good sized fields, and good racing.
