Is that policy for bikes only or all vehicles? LMPD (Louisville) has a similar policy, but it applies to all vehicles

I was young and dumb once and taken advantage of lb/hp ratio but that was in my teens/20’s. Definitely the maturity factor plays a part. Gotten lucky in a few accidents (no fault of my own) and was lucky enough to live and learn. Not everyone is as lucky as I am and I count my blessings. Unfortunately it’s not something you can teach to newer riders, but only warn them about.

In the "old days" when ANYONE didn't stop, the chase was on. (I retired after 25+ years as a PO).

Over the years, that was changed to depending on what the situation was and traffic conditions.

The Officer also had the authority to "call it off"

IE, speeding, expired tag-no chasing.. Some one just committed a murder, etc - sh..t's ON!

Lot of contributing factors that leads to a crash, but speed is usually one of the primary factors. Riding a motorcycle is all about making the right decisions. Make bad decisions, pay the consequences.
