Color of original air filter?

I bought my bike this spring (it's a '08, the sexy black one) used with 1447 miles on it and after reaching 4.000 miles I changed oil (Mobil 1 4T and filter and then checked the air filter and found it was red, and so clean I didn't even need to clean it. My question is about the color of the filter media, is this a Yamaha filter or did the previous owner put a K&N filter in it? I know K&N uses red oil after cleaning in solvent (what do you all use for cleaning the filter?) and was hoping it is a K&N filter. Thanks for your help with any information in advance. They may not be re-usable, but at least they last a long time. I'm up to around 9300 miles on my FZ, and the filter is nearing the end of it's life(as in really dirty). I've never had a filter stay so clean for so long. lol The bad part is, they're pretty expensive, at around $25! I don't care if they last 20K miles, that's a lot for a filter. Oh well, what are you gonna do.
