Getting Ragged on by my friends.

I was curious if any of the younger or any FZ6 riders get grief from their friends with their R6's, GSXR's, and ZX6's.......cause i was catching some grief from a couple of my diehard sportbike friends. trying to tell me my FZ6 isnt a real motorcycle...WELL..........I had to go show them that my FZ can and will not only run side by side with their so call real motorcycles, but be more comfortable and look better doing it as well. LOL they were ticked when i could lead the pack and they had to push to keep up. I guess what im trying to get at is the FZ6 is no joke when it comes to power and handling, and i can ride mine for hours and still walk when its all over. instead of complaining that my back hurts .......

Go show them how to put down some knee. The fz6 is a very capable motorcycle. I personally dont own one but a buddy on here does. Sure the r6,zx6,cbr600 will take you on a straight line, but the twisties its all down to rider. EX. You put nicky hayden on a fz6 and me on my r1 and nicky would spank me. Another ex. those bikes only have about 8-10 hp more than yours, so they wouldnt destroy your bike in a straight.

Ive run my FZ against a R6 in a straight line and didnt get beat by more than a wheel. But yeah it about rider when we hit the twisties....needless to say they dont give me any crapp anymore LOL.

Oh and as for having a mom pose topless....mabey i could get all their moms to pose haha the more the better right!!

Owning a Sporty as well as the FZ6 I can tell you first hand about grief. Within the Harley family the Sporty has been and is often spoken of as a girls bike. Then as you found there are the die hards that will ask when I am going to buy a real Harley. This attitude generally stops about the time we hit some twisties and I blast through no problem while they are forced to drag parts.

Riding is all about you and what tickles your fancy. It has nothing to do with the "them" factor. Personally I don't care what they ride because my butt isn't in their saddle. By the same token I have no problem with riding 5 or 600 miles a day on either bike and I don't need to stop every 40 miles to take a break either. I figure anybody that is worried about my ride ain't worth riding with anyway.......

I'm with ya though. I have the go fast FZ6 and the Sporty (which has the fully adjustable S model suspension with the stage 1) is a ton of fun too. It all comes down to my attitude for the day. Tear up the asphalt or ride the roller coaster....... Either way, i'm covered...

i have this one friend who would, he rides an r6. he quit doing that when we did a track day and i was a consistantly 4 seconds faster than him on my stock bike with street tires and he was on dot's with tons of mods. he seriously got pissed when i threw it in his face too.

I am 5'10" 225lbs and stared on a Ninja 250... talk about getting grief... the guys that i rode with had a tl1000r, ducati 998, R6, and a gsxr 600. Well joke was on them, when we would hit the twisties at the end of the summer i was able to stick right with them in the turns... they got back at me though when we would hit the straights of the highway to head home and i could not keep up...

I think a number of folks would be very surprised at how well the little fu-fu bikes can do when pushed to their limit in a good set of twisties. They're a riot to ride in tight canyons for sure.

And some of the best part is questions about mods..... The other day a friend of mine (busa owner) asked me when I would get a steering damper. I laughed in his face and told him I don't need something to up my confidence when it is just used to overcome rider error! (most of the time) he was not happy about that!

Professional road racers wouldn't even need an FZ6 to spank anyone....they could do it on a 250 Virago.

You outta try parking a 250 Ninja along side a row of Harley's and listen to the comments you get. At the mine I work at, metric bikes are definately the minority. I took a lot of heat last year for my little ninja. Any time one of the Harley riders asked me when I was going to buy a real bike, I always came back with the same reply: "I'm not, I need something more reliable." Then all hell would break loose. The rice burner, non-american comments would come out. It all boils down to just buying what you want, just as long as your on two wheels. At the end of the day, I'll ride home along side of any of them, and they would do the same for me. MATT
