I test road a 2008 the other day for a pretty short ride. I noticed that the front wheel really dropped in compared to my current bike. That is, it required very little steering effort (counter steering). Just lean a tad and it turned. On the other hand it did not seem overly fast going slow.

Is this par for the bike?

I've always kind of consider the stock steering to be "average" as far as input needed to get the bike to turn. Not needing a lot of input but not super nimble either. What pressure do you run your current bikes front tire at? If your running 30psi or lower that could be what your feeling in your current bike

Fz takes very little effort to initiate turns, however you can speed up initial drop-in even more by sliding fork legs up in the triple trees about 1/4 inch. Drawback is slight loss of straghtline stability.
