I just got my new 2007 FZ6 and the sales guy offered me the extended warranty which would cover the bike for 4 additional years (5 years total) and it was less than $400....what do you all think, DEAL or NO DEAL!?!?!?

Check out the earlier thread about the Yamaha Extended Service:

While $400 does not sound bad compared to the cost of a new bike; you will find that most users here never had the need to even use the extended warranty.
Cheers
I work at a dealer here in S.C. and see a fair amount of extended warranty work...

I should have been more specific, no particular models were in mind while I wrote my post. My intention is to suggest that Yamaha has shown repeatedly to favor helping extended warranty holders when questionable issues arise.
Hope I've not complicated your post here.

Pete ... I was referring to non warranted claim requests ... example, when asking Yamaha for their help when the failed part is not their responsibility.
Even if the warranty, original or extended has since expired Yamaha may offer their help when asked ... having paid for the extended warranty may or may not encourage a purely unbiased freebie.
I have seen it go in the consumers favor more often than not when the extended warranty had been purchased .... even though expired.
Make sense?
