I would have to agree with you, I think CC's main aim is to keep his Moto GP profile up with a view to securing a decent ride the following season.
It's a win win for him really, If the season is a disaster, equal and better men have failed before him. If he has some good results he is a genius.

I think VR46 thought the same thing. Now he's trying to catch back up. Hope the same doesn't happen to CC. It was enjoyable to watch him earlier in the season.

CC had no choice, with Pol joining Tech3 and more talent bubbling up to MotoGP from Moto2, the choices for Cal were fewer. He will be 28 in '14 and would be wise to cash in on his recent success.
