My new Triumph Tiger 800

Well I finally got a chance to ride the Tiger today and I'm really happy with this bike:thumbup: Has plenty of get up and go, just twist the grip. No top end rush but it makes up for it with the low end pull, pushes you back in the seat sort of feeling and it just sounds great:D Soaks up all the crap roads around here, only the big bumps get through a bit. Very planted in the switch backs although a better rider than I could find the limitations but for me it works just great:thumbup: If your thinking about one of Triumph's triple's I say go for it, can't speak of the longevity or reliability just yet but I don't think either will be a problem:D
Took these along Hwy 18

And a short video, sorry about the sound but you can hear some of the exhaust note.

That motor will surprise you. It will pull better than the I4 at low rpm and surprise you at how fast you're at speed. It's deceiving at first...:D

Cool video, not bad for an old guy :BLAA:

From another old guy...:BLAA: I used to ride my Yamaha RD400 on that road, back in the day (1978). Ride safe.

Cheers!

Beautiful pics and great video Jerry. And the bike sounds good....really good!
Couldn't be happier for a fellow old fart. Enjoy the heck out of it.

Buncha old pharts! :Flip: :rof:

:rof::rof: I was following Jerry on the first leg last year's NorCal/SoCal ride before I knew who he was and I was having to make a serious effort to keep up with him. When he took off his helmet, I said "dude, he's older than I am!" Thus the "Jblk9695 is my hero.." under my avatar. :D

Fine looking road you've got there! Thanks for posting the vid!

My trick for clear exhaust sound: mount the camera close to the pipe and point it backwards! No wind noise this way. :D

What a great bike.....awesome choice! Another "Thinking man's" Sportsbike, of sorts...except, it's more!

Lucky bugger....

Oh how I miss hwy 18...

Congrats on the bike Jerry! I saw one parked in front of my apartment the other day and probably spent a solid 10 minutes staring at it, much to my girlfriend's chagrin.

Anyone okay with us starting a Triumph subforum here for all these converts to hang out in?:Flip:

but why!!!! why!!!!! :spank: :D

Congratulations, that indeed is a nice looking bike. I was not able to test ride it back in Daytona (bike week) but I sat on it and it seemed like a really nice bike.

Enjoy it

Why you ask? Cause I'm an old phart, be 66 in Aug., and there are just too many really neat bikes out there and I need to sample a few of them before I hang up my leathers:D:D
