That's a neat idea. I just use a "Throttle Rocker" to give my wrist a rest, although with your O-ring at least you could remove your hand off the grip!

Good post.
To keep it from slipping, I recommend washing that area and the ring frequently. Oil from the hands and dust/dirt causes it to slip. From the looks of that ring, it should hold pretty good once cleaned with soap + water.
