Need Help ODO flickering ER 3 code, on and off. Not working anymore when during riding.

Hello FZ6 fans.

I have a issue with my bike and I am curious if happened to someone else before.

Short description, is that I had my motorbike in "warm" garage during the winter without battery. This year, after I have installed a new battery (same model as before, YUASA 10.5 Ah, 12v), when I start the motor, it "flickers" ER 3, with max temp, for a brief second, then recovers, then appear again.

After the motor its getting warmer, this flickering disappear, but when I start to ride with more than 30 km/h ish, temp meter becomes automatically max, and the speed shows either max or zero km/h. Slower the speed it recovers, but this code flickers again, sometimes.

It this a short circuit somewhere? Or is the ODO toasted? What are you thoughts?

I have cleaned the connectors under the ODO, cleaned the connectors of battery, and around battery ( what I have touched when changed the battery), and also cleaned all breakers and ECU connector. No luck, problem still persist.

No problems before the winter.

It might be good to check the connection at the ECU module. There is a data line between the ECU and the instrument cluster. The ER 3 is the code for a problem with data transmission from the ECU and the Instrument cluster.

Thank you for your fast answer. I will check ECU connection and clean it some more! Do you know what colour it is the data cable from ECU to cluster? Shall I open all black tape and follow it fully?

The data line should be a yellow with blue tracer wire. The plug at the ECU may have a problem. Sometimes salt contamination can cause cross talk between pins and that could be the problem. I would also not rule out the possibility a rodent has been present and caused damage to wiring. Keep an eye out for signs of rodent activity.

Removed ECU and cleaned inside.
The connector had a very "cooked" rubber lining, that fall off half of it. Dont know if it was damaged before or it broke now when I have disconnected the ECU for cleaning. Removed the lining completely to be able to connect it back. (Pic3)

Cleaned all the connections with yellow/blue lining.

The error still appear and disappear.

My garage its inside the house (part of the house?), I have checked for rotten sign activity, but it is highly unlikely as I go inside quite often and clean it quite regularly all year around.

It is possible for the ECU or ODO to go bad? Or its more likely for the connector/cables to fail?
