Hi men, thanks for your answer.

Regarding your problem i think i found something that could be useful for you

http://www.dre.vanderbilt.edu/~aky/Bikes/Manuals/Service/FZ6/FZ6 electrical.pdf

You can search in that manual the item 1.

The 1 is the main switch for the non-inmobilizer version (i think is yours), and you can see the wiring so you can avoid the switch or install a keyless system.

I hope it help you.

I appreciate the response. I ended up using switches on the two smaller wires and the red/brown. I switch them both on and its been sold for awhile now. No starting problems and its sleek. Thanks for the info though. I'll throw some detailed picks up on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Damn, nice build! Does the rear suspension now feel inadequate?

Nah. I weigh 160-165 with gear, so the stock suspension was adequate. I was disappointed with the brakes and lack of adjustability from the front, hence the front end swap. I still haven't made time to get the exhaust done, but it'll be here soon. Thanks for the comment!

A small update for everyone. Winter was fun, but the weather is getting nicer and it's time to have the bike ready. The last two things I wanted to get done were the ignition and the exhaust. I finished both this week.

The ignition was easy as I just spliced into my existing wiring and relocated the switch under the seat. I have to take my seat on and off to turn on/off, but that's okay by me. Keeps my ignition out of sight. A little safety measure too.

Second, I finished the exhaust. If you remember I had two R6s cans from a very nice company (Competition Werkes) in Southern Oregon. I had the can built without mounts or badges, as I riveted them on later.

I ended up using 2" piping, but looking back, 1.75" would have been ideal. I sleeved the 2" to accommodate the difference in pipe sizing from stock to Comp Werkes. I used a pre-bent 6" radius U-bend and some bent straight pipe. The mounts for everything are custom and one off. Before anyone asks, no I wont build anyone any exhausts. I'll take pics and measurements, but you'll have to do it yourself.

I know the welds suck, but I was dead tired. I might go back and wire wheel/paint the y-pipe, but for now, it's perfectly fine.

Here is a YouTube video of the exhaust taken with my cell phone. Quality is okay, but you get it.

Lemme know what y'all think...

I am a perfectionist, so it might come back off and get redone. It's the small things that no one will ever see that I take pride in.

Had a trade lined up for a 2008 Yamaha WR250X. Dude flaked out at the last minute. Oh well...

I cleaned up the behind headlight wiring and moved the fairing stay and fairing closer to the headlight. I moved the gauge closer to the top triple. It really cleaned up the front end. Looks pretty mean too.

I've got about 800 miles on my Pilot Road 3's and they are an awesome tire!

I also changed my coolant with some Zerex Asian Vehicle Antifreeze. Premixed and not made silica or phosphates. My other fluid was absolutely nasty, dark brown and dirty. That's what I get for waiting 8000 miles to change it. I also dropped to a 15T front sprocket up front and man, it makes a difference! A little high strung on the highway, but very manageable. We'll see how many miles I get outta this first tank.

Took a few pics and I am going to try and do a glamour shoot tomorrow...

After some total Craigslist BS, she's still mine. Just a little update since the last one...

I completely unmounted and cleaned my exhaust as last winter was not nice to it. While I had everything apart I decatted my mid pipe and removed the AIS to help with my backfiring on decel. While I was removing the AIS I also checked my plugs since I'm just about 9k miles. They looked perfect! Probably should have re-gapped them or just replaced them while I had her apart, but oh well. It wasn't broken so it didn't need fixing. I also got some new handguards for my winter commute. I needed something to work in conjunction with my heated grips. The wind hurts at 28 degrees.
