R1 & R6 will have triples

Not sure if this is old news here but it sure made me excited. Ive wanted a triumph 675 but always felt guilty leaving the Yamaha brand....now I wont have to. looks like the R1 and R6 will have a triple engine. :rockon:

I didnt even think of that Motojoe, I was too mesmerized by the thought of a R1 or R6. That would be wicked awesome too! However I think my next bike(assuming my FZ6 is still purring) will be a super sport.

Yeah that's an old Visordown article. Not much since then. Until today apparently- this on MCN:

Yamaha have also confirmed that: “A big announcement will be made on Tuesday June 11 at 2pm”, when we’re expecting to see the production-ready triple in the metal for the first time, and to have full technical information about the engine. But in the meantime have a watch of the official video…

I test rode a Street Triple last week, was very nice. Not dissimilar to the FZ but felt lighter, smoother and much better low down power. Very tempted but I think I'll hang onto the FZ for a while longer yet, still enjoying it.
