Scariest Photo of the Year!!!

Just spent an hour or so pulling off speedo healers etc. and saying my goodbyes. Bike's been written off.

Best motor vehicle I have ever owned, bar none

R.I.P. Blue Beast:(.

Got all choked up.....felt like I was looting the corpse of my best friend:(

Will be remembered always:rockon::rockon::rockon:

Cheers

Poor Mikey....he lost his best buddy today.....well Matey, only one thing to do, get ya hands on another one, and ride the flippin wheels off it....you know what i mean anyways...

To my number 1 riding buddy, and good friend....everything happens for a reason dude....and i reckon you might of thought of them all, since this little adventure.

:rockon::rockon::rockon:

Damn man! I hope you get all the insurance figured out without any stress (bloody insurance companies) so you can get back on the road, it won't be the same since you obviously see your bike as more than a machine, but it should help!
Just lucky your alright, also if you want my 2c (or maybe its 1/2c) if your sticking with a FZ6 get a new white one, in my totally unbiased *cough* opinion they are the fastest and coolest :D

I don't mind the White's, the Orange 06 and the the blue ones. Black are OK but everyone here has one....lol. I was drooling over a nice black FZ1 with the gold rims today....mmmmmm....yummo.:D

unlucky brother.

such a lucky small off, and its a write off.......

The two most expensive bits and the bits that require the most work to swap out were broken. I was pretty certain it was toast.

LOL...Still might buy it back yet. Some Devcon and a few little bits and pieces could see my blue beast become a track bike.....If I do this I'll not be getting an FZ1...lol.

With the weight difference not being all that great and the rest of the set up being so similar, the FZ1 would still be impressively nimble in the tight stuff and just abso-freaking-lutely psycho on the 'D' road and at Lala's on the straights and through the kink.

Pity they are both wikkid bikes....makes the decision pretty tuff.

Bloody hell mate !

I can't believe you got off that bike without serious injuries, glad ya did though.

Gotta give it to the blue bikes, the only thing that can kill 'em is a 4wd

FZ6's are renowned for being super tough in Australian racing circles...via the FZ6 Cup...

I can also back this up.....they are hard to break.

Now we know what happened to those two poor hitchikers who reportedly met a 'sticky' end :p

That lower pic is a bit confusing, how did someone get wheels on a water ski :O

You ride a bike....of course your not right in the head...if you were, you wouldnt ride!

That's why i love bikes, they are everything wrong, as well as all things right, all rolled into one!

I totally agree......Well if there are two of us thrown off enough to think this way..... then just maybe we are the sane ones and everybody else is crazy!!?? :D

Mike, I am SO glad you came out so healthy, based on how badly sheared off your bike was. You did an amazing job saving your hide!! KUDOS to you!!:bow::bow::bow:
I hope you can find another bike that you will fall in love with.

Dude I wrote off my GPX250 prior to buying a FZ6N. Leaves such an empty feeling....hard to explain. Glad your in one piece but. In the end thats all that really matters.

I spent alot of cash and effort on the GPX cause a mate left it in a shed for 5 years. He shifted to QLD when I asked him what of the bike? He gave it to me.

Spent the next 6 months fixing and scraping together the cash for all the renewables (tyres, battery, coolant, oil, chain, sprockets etc).
Rode it everyday once it was going.

Then one miserable morning all the cars on the freeway came to a halt suddenly. 3 car pile up on the other side of the tunnel. No one could see it. 90kmph to 0 in 20m. Would have made it but got a tap in the arse.

I then hit car in front (didn't leave any damage) and I did my first onde handed handstand into forward somersault ever in my life. Slid down for 10m or so then rolled to the side and waited for the crashing noises to stop.

5 cars piled in behind me. I walked away with some skin missing on the knees (wasn't wearing my dragons) and a stiff back.

Bike was written off. Windscreen gone, footpeg gone, miscellaneous plastics gone/snapped/scratched, handle bar bent, fairing sub frame bent, and some filing of random metal bits and pieces.

I was lucky to not have broken anything or worse.

The only thing that is going to take away that empty feeling is getting on your new bike.

For no reason (good or evil) go get the FZ1.

Yeah, it's a little sobering to look at it. First thing on a new bike will be to remove the pillion pegs. Second thing will be to ride it so much I won't fall off even when smashed by a 4WD...lol.:rockon::rockon: I'm already a step ahead in the latter if I get another FZ6.

At this moment in time if the insurance company handed me the cash and I was in a bike shop, I'd be riding out on an FZ1:rockon::rockon:.

That could change tomorrow though...lol.:D
