Scorpions, Sluggish after Install

to clarify I didn't say 1 HP I said 1 MPH on top. I was saying I think the increase was in the peak horse power, but I'm sure it is at the cost of torque.

my fault i must have read it to fast... i did some reading on the exhaust and it seems 8hp gain is the norm which seems alot better.

I can't confirm it but the 'seat of the pants test' says my bike is a little sluggish after my LV install too. I just assumed I needed a PCIII and remapping which I haven't done yet

Did some research and decided to breakdown and purchase the Power Commander. From my understanding now, you can actually map/tune the stock pipes with the PCIII and get better performance. The bikes are tuned with a zero mapping for the general public out the door. Just slapping on the Scorpions will give you better tone, but not better performance. So mapping it correctly is the proper thing to do, just hits the pocket that much more. I'm having the dealer do it because I'm sick of doing Mods right now! Just want it done, and done like yesterday....lol

BTW, has anyone done the install, and where did you tuck the commander?

The install of the PC3 takes about 15 minutes. The box installs in your "trunk" next to your tool kit. I used Super Velcro to hold it in place.

If you like I'll send you my custom map for my 07 with Akrapovics, db killers out. It will get you in the neighborhood. I can't imagine that the difference between exhausts is that big.

Search Power Commander, PC3 and PCIII and you should get more hits too.

Hey welcome back, I'm glad to hear you are home safe and sound! Hopefully your friend will find that key soon and you can take her for a spin.

Thanks! Funny story...as the locksmith started tinkering with the tank lock, I got a call on my cell. It was one of my buddies who was with my NCOIC saying his wife found the key not a minute before. SOOOO, I got out of spending a pretty penny getting a new key made!

Rode it home today....awwwww sweet!!!

My bike seems very sluggish and non-responsive after installing scorpions. Not getting the same pop as I did with the stocks. Does this mean I need to get "Dyno Tuned"? Or just a regular tune up? Anyone in the Boston area know of a place to get it tuned? Had a hell of a time just getting anyone to answer the phone today, peek season I guess.

i just installed scorpions,but i took the cat out the link pipe,and that made it better:rockon:
