why not most other forums have a section for other bikes but keep their identity such as the sportster forums and most owners have a second bike i'm for it

That's exactly what I'm saying. This forum will become "like" other well established more developed forums. Why try to compete with a conglomerate when you've got a great niche that sets you apart? This forum is 95% FZ6 which is the only reason I come here.

Just my $0.02 that's all.

I like the exclusive FZ6 asspect of this forum. I see the R6 FZ1 and R1 parts are already to go....not sure if I see the purpose of the poll if it is a done deal. (maybe it is not but it appears to be under construction)

jmho.... no worries either way....

this is a great site

I think a single focus forum is a great idea. As the Admin admitted in another thread it has been more popular that expected. There is a reason for that! The term KISS comes to mind!

I voted to have other bikes, but it should not take away from the FZ6 main theme!

What he said! I like the FZ6 identity but other bikers would make for some interesting rivalry posts and good spirited fun, plus it could get more riders together in members local areas.:Sport:

Personally I like the feel and exclusivity of the FZ6 site. It’s more of a brotherhood (sisterhood) than another bike site. When using this site you also get the feeling that you know the other members in person. However, it’s your site and we will support it regardless.

Personally, I like the size of this forum. My roomy just joined an R6 forum, which has almost 30,000 members. There is no way you could keep up with the current threads with that many members. Just like Defyinertia mentioned, we have found a special niche for our bikes. After all, according to Yamaha, the FZ6 is not the most popular selling bikes, therefore this thread has grouped the riders together who share the same reasons why we chose to own one. There are many other Makes and Models that were available for us to buy, but we chose the FZ6. Just like there are many other forums we could belong to. I say keep it the way it is, if other members are looking for more riders, they can search on other forums. Here in Las Vegas, there is a local bike forum which post weekly rides, but I haven't ventured in one yet.

SBN convert. I love this site so far. Far fewer squids, flame throwers and drama queens. Glad it's staying FZ6 only.

I'm on the fence on this one:

I love the singular FZ6 identity of the site because it is all about the bike I own and love, however, the overiding thing I've noticed here is that everyone treats each other with mutual respect which is nice and not found on other forums.

Having said that, I would hate to lose a valued member of our group just because they moved on to another bike. I'm looking at an R1 myself next year; mainly just to see if my wife will carry out her threat that I'll be sleeping in the garage if I buy another bike! Seriously though, losing the camaraderie we have built up and thoughtful insight that a departing member has seems like a greater loss to me than diluting the gene pool a bit so to speak.

I might suggest an additional "kitchen sink" or "non-FZ6" section where all bikes could be discussed openly.

I appreciate the things you all have taught me in the short time we've been together as well as the oppurtunity to voice my opinion.
