Ok, recently, i have made a few changes to the ergonomics of my bike, and have also been running a very softly set up front end, and a much higher rear ride height, which along with changing the bars to clip-ons, has made the bike a very different thing, going around corners...Am having trouble getting around the things at the moment, because the front and back of the bike are not talking right now...The bike is not settled into corners, and dives excessively when riding hard, and it lacks compliance on normal roads, so there are problems with weight of spring, pre-load, rebound damping rates, etc, at both ends...

Front is the main source of trouble i think, need a heavier set of springs i think...considering i have never bothered to change them since they came out of the FZ6 cup bike, set up for Amy O'Mara, who weighs about 60kg at the very most...rear shock is the same, too lighter spring...same thing, for Amy! I do have the heavier spring that the previous rider to Amy, who weigh's about the same as me...so i think it will be on with that spring...

The reality is i really dont know, to me, Suspension s a black art that is very easy to confuse yourself with when trying to set up a bike, especially one with the wrong spring rate at each end!!!

Bike is being worked on by Race Bike Services, the local Ohlins Specialists, who have a list of customers that include World Endurance Champion, SA's Steve Martin...they know what they are doing.

Will be interesting to see how it all turns out, and how it turns out, but is has to be better than it is right now, i can go much quicker round corners on my other FZ6 at the moment, and that should not be the case...

I will try and get a detailed report of what they did, and what the final set up is for someone of my weight...might help someone.

Bikes going to be gone for about a week...

I would be interested in this.
For i am having problems with the front giving me a bit of problems cornering and i do not know what is the cause of this.
I want to turn left and it wants to go right and if i want to go right it wants to go left.
Could this be a suspension issue? I have been riding bikes long enough to know it is not a rider thing. For i ride friend's bikes etc and have no probs.
So what could it be?
I have a 2006 FZ6n.

Thanks

This sounds like one of your forks had it, springs most definitely, Do you have excessive tyre wear from one side, if yes it signals a bended fork tube

I had the same thing

Please check and make sure your front and rear suspension is working properly first off. Generally if you stand the bike upright, take all you weight off of it, then sit down firmly into your normal riding position, you will want the front and rear of the bike to settle the same amount. You can then adjust springs etc. in order to accomplish this.

If the bike is not balanced properly through the suspension then it will not handle correctly.

I am glad you are having it looked at by the pro's.

Please do report back on what they do and how it changed the bike.
