Ok guys, dont know who got to watch the last round of the SBK last night...but it was Troy Bayliss's last race meeting before retiring....

He took pole, won both races easily, got the fastest lap in both races, and comprehensively :spank: the opposition....not bad for a guy that's 40, and retiring.....was his usual humble self after the race.....

For the record, 152 starts in SBK, 52 wins, 27 pole positions, 3 championships, including 2008, runner up at least once....I dont think Carl Fogerty is the king of SBK anymore.....move over Carl it's Mr Baylisstic which wins hands down as the est ever in SBK...Higher win %, and about a thousand times more gracious.....Now that should get the Carl Fogarty fans steaming!

And before you remind me, that Mr Grumpy (Fogarty) won 4 championships, he did it over a longer carreer in SBK....never did do the GP thing???, and at a time when there were only 2 or 3 good guys racing, and the rest struggled...definitely not like now, with former moto gp factory riders, and moto gp winners in the field.

Anyway, enough gloting, Troy Bayliss, you are a legend!

Oh and dont forget another great Aussie Champ, Troy Corser came second in this years championship, Andrew Pitt won the 2008 World Supersport Championship too!

Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi! Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

And then there is Mr Stoner....watch out Rossi in 09, he's gonna be stronger!

We took a trade in at work. Bayliss's 98 996RS Race Edition. Bike #1. Meaning it IS the bike he crossed the line with in the 98 British Superbike season! I'll grab some pictures tomorrow at work, it's crazy!

From what I can recall (remember, I'm old and my memory may be a bit off), but I'm pretty sure Gary McCoy is going to be there, but on a Honda next year.

I'm heading out now, but will try to confirm that when I get back.. (off for a few drinks and a bit of betting on the Melbourne Cup.)

:)

I think they're asking something around 50k usd.

It's in full running condition. Besides Bayliss's riding it has seen about 10 hours of track use. It's an unbelievable machine. Deep Sump DesmoQuattro, all papers, cf everything, magnesium and titanium where it's not cf, shower injectors, cf velocity stacks, cf sidepanels removable to check timing without having to remove panels.

It's amazing!

Can't find it, but they did mention where he was going during the WSS race... I'd almost bet my left nut that it was Honda..

:)
