Haha, with the money I save on chains, I should be able to buy air filters and coolant, right? My temp never goes crazy and the bike seems to be running fine, so I'm hoping it's all good, but I know I'm waaaaay overdue on those. No TB synch or valve adjustment either, so I might put that on the summer list too.

I'm even going to replace the chain and sprockets, but only because I want the experience changing them

And yes, I mean brake pads. I actually have changed the fluid believe it or not :thumbup:

At least you're cables got Lubed! :thumbup: fwiw: even though the coolant retains its freeze and boil over protection, it's likely lost the rust and corrosion protection which takes out weak areas like head gaskets etc. It's less than a good 12 pack of beer!

I've had the 08 a little more than a year, 10,XXX miles. No troubles at all. :thumbup:

2006 with 17,245 miles.

Still on original chain, brake pads, steering head bearings & air filter.

I have replaced the plugs once, the tires 3 times and the oil and filter every 4-5K with full synthetic

Coolant and brake fluid were changed at 14,500 miles.

Good to see that with regular basic maintenance getting well over 50,000 miles without serious issues is likely! :thumbup:

I am still on my original front brake pads, have gone through several rear pads. Still have stock rotor discs, but rear is out of limits. Will need replacing.

I've had my 2009 model for over 2 years now.

Initially I was just taking it to the dealer for the recommend maintenance and little by little I've been taking over it's regular maintenance: oil & filter change every 4,000 miles. I just replaced the coolant and brake fluids.

No problems to report.

I'm at 42.5K, I do all the easy stuff myself. Oil, coolant and keep the chain clean and lubed. I've replaced brake pads and changed out the brake fluid. I also have a boat load of mods. This fathers day I'm going to get a gel pad to make the seat a bit more comfy. I had my seat shaved down 1.5 inches. ( this makes a big difference since I'm short on one end.) I added a led brake light to save a bit on power when the electric jacket is on. I have a 06 fz6, I got in May of 07 so these mods have taken a bit of time.
