windshield removal

I ordered a Puig smoked windshield to replace the stock one this week and was wondering if someone could give me some idea how to take off the old one (2004) and put this new one on the bike. Do the mirrors have to come off or is there some twist?

Hey Charlie. Welcome to the forum mate. :thumbup:

Windscreen removal is very easy. You don't have to remove the mirrors, just lift up the rubber boots to get access to the 2 screws behind them. Then, there is one more screw under the "point" at the front (be careful... it's only plastic).

5 screws in total, and it will almost fall off.

Nah mate, '04 - '06 has a different windscreen, they changed it for the '07 model.

The screen on ours is basically the complete front...

Thanks that's what I thought I'd find under that boot.
Even the black on your bike looks better under glass than mine.
I'll post some pics of the swap out.

Did the swap out today it took about 5 minutes and looks better.
I'm glad they blacked out the outer areas of the dash I wasn't expecting that.
