High idle after TB Sync

Goodmorning everyone, 2 days ago I went ahead and finally put to use my Carbtune, Adjusted my vaccum and it looked to be fine (it was really off).
The bike has woken up, I really feel the low end way better now and to be honest I even noticed an improvement on the famous snatchy throttle issue, it feels way smoother now. What's concerning me and I need an expert's opinion on this, is the idle rpm, I like to have my idle a bit lower than 1300 I believe it sounds better and it even feels better with the engine braking. My question is would it be okay to go ahead and put the carbtune on again and lower the vacuum in order to achieve lower rpm?
 
Yamaha set the idle to ensure that oil pressure is maintained. Dropping it lower because you think it sounds cool could cause long term damage.
LOL Pretty sure I saw in other threads members talking about setting the idle a bit lower(I remember specifically someone said they have theirs at 1050) thats why I asked fair enough. Thx for the reply
 
Mines been set at 1,000 for well over a decade and 30,000 miles.

I do use Motul 5100 and have had NO Issues..

It does idle smoother at 1K vs 1,300 and yes engine braking is better.
It's run in SW Florida, 365 and in summer , day time temps usually the low 90s (F)

Also, I'm at sea level and could never get the vacuum to where Yamaha calls for.
As long as all are equal (within 10MM) and you have a good idle, your fine.

An issue with having the idle too low is that if you throttle off too quickly, the engine can stall.
 
I'm glad you've never had that issue.

On other FZ6 groups I've seen posts from people where their bike has stalled from this and fixed it by raising the idle to the correct level.
 
You're so unwilling to believe that a low idle can cause stalling because of your "ten years and 30,000 miles" of experience and as you've "not read or seen it on these forums in 16 years", so, if you're so confident, why not turn down the idle and test your hypothesis?

Unless you're worried that you might actually not be correct...

Why not turn it down to 500, 400, 300??? Duh...

I posted MY EXPERIANCE. It's not a hypothesis. Play the video I posted and pay attention...

Like it or not, mine has run GREAT all this time with a 1000 RPM idle...

Actually, it has NEVER STALLED, (short of rider error) NEVER, (in my 16 years of ownership).

I'm glad that YOUR experience has been so satisfactory and YOU haven't seen anyone posting that they've had problems.

Please understand that I am saying that OTHERS have had problems, even though you may not be aware of it.

Now if you want to get the last word in, please do so with my blessing.

I wouldn’t classify that idle as being “all over the place”…it’s fairly steady.

The bogging can be a number of things such as a dirty air filter, a misalignment of the airbox or throttle body bank, or even a clogged or sticky fuel injector. Of course anyone one of these items would also result in a hunting idle as well.

Switch the ignition on and press the Select Button until you see E: 0 which is a digital rev counter.

Start the engine and see what the figures say. Ideally it should be between 1250 and 1350 rpm.

It does sound as if you've got an aftermarket exhaust which I've seen mentioned by other people as a cause of an unsteady idle.
