    FZ6 HID PROJECTOR RETROFIT installations!

Culpeper. Probably about an hour ride from Springfield. The riding is much better down here !

    Harbor Freight Tire changer

I've mounted 6 sets of tires on mine. The nylon mojo blocks are key as is a nylon tipped tool like the Mojo lever or NoMar. Get yourself some rim protectors as well as they really help when initially getting the de-mount bar in there to prevent rim damage.

Should there be any play in the gas tank?

The mounts in the front and back are rubber mounted to minimize vibration of the tank so there will be slight play but it should definitely not rattle or move while riding. Check the rear pivot bolt under the seat and there are 2 Allen head bolts on the front of the tank that connect it to the...

    Michelin PR4 on my Tiger

Well if you get your own changer you can eventually charge your buddies $20-30 per tire change to save them money and to recoup some of your investment cost over time.

    Michelin PR4 on my Tiger

My last set of tires was Michelin Pilot Power 2CT on my FZ6 and my rear tire managed to get 6,300 miles. Now I'm on the PR2 and expect to easily get 9,000 miles based on my experience with the 2CT which is softer. I've been using a HF tire changing stand with no-mar nylon blocks and mojo...

Next bike? What it would be?

I was on the fence about the FJ-09 but my riding buddy bought one and he already has 10,500 miles on it! He's getting 200 miles on a tank on road trips and I've ridden the thing and it is more comfortable than the FZ6 and that triple is a perfect engine. I don't think I would ever be satisfied...

Next bike? What it would be?

If I could only have one bike I would get the new FJ-09. Still fun and sporty like the FZ6, even better for touring duty.

Which year model do you ride?

2006 - Faster Blue Ridden daily to work (28 miles/day) as long as it's not raining or below freezing. I bought it brand new and it's sitting at 22,000 miles. It would have a lot more miles but I also have a cruiser I use for touring.

    S1 vs. S2

I'm sure dissasembly of the throttle grip housing and removing the throttle tube is covered in the service manual. I have the manual in PDF if you need it send me a pm and I'll try to upload it to my dropbox for you. It's not really much more than removing 2 screws in the kill switch...

One thing I didn't expect about freeway riding...

The only safe way to ride on a freeway is to stay in the safe zones, stay out of blind spots and keep to the outside of your lane when passing a car or truck as many of them swerve lanes without even looking. Once you get several thousand miles down on freeways it really isn't all that bad...

    Safe while stopped? Think again

Well. That is one biker who is super fortunate he saw it coming and also that he had a helmet cam running! Looks like he will be getting a brand new bike. Never underestimate the stupidity of drivers. You have 15 year olds who don't know what they are doing and 90 year olds who can't tell...

    S1 vs. S2

You can't really compare wind protection when the S2 has an aftermarket windscreen. :spank: I have a 2006 (last year of the S1) and I love the fairing for wind protection, but I'm 5'8". I do prefer the analog gauges of the S2 though, that tach on the S1 is hard to read in sunny weather, but...

    Don't Give Them An Inch

I have found that a high visibility vest is the best safety investment if you ride in traffic a lot. Even senile drivers can usually still see bright colors.

    Anyone heard of loadshedding?

I'd simply use that as an excuse to nap! Seriously though, that would suck right at dinner time. Why don't they just restrict people from using dishwashers, clothes dryers and other high draw appliances during peak use evening hours and those homes who violate the restrictions get their power...
