I have about 2500 miles on my new 2008 FZ6. When I got it, the dealer wanted me to bring it by at 600 miles for the first checkup. He quoted me $500-$600. No thanks. I did a safety inspection and changed my own oil thanks to info on this forum.

Now I notice my chain seems a little slack. I don't really want to take it back to the dealer. Is this something I can safely do on my own. I see one axle nut, and some tension adjustment screws. Seems to make sense, but I don't want to make any assumptions.

Any how-to's, videos or words of wisdom?

Thanks

Very easy to do. Just download the shop manual from this site, I don't have link, just google FZ6 manual. It will walk you through it.

Just make sure index marks are even on both sides and eyeball slack measurement to a ruler and you will be OK.

good luck:rockon:
