They must be doing pretty good to open dealers in a down economy. Focus will be on dual-sport bikes.

the adventure market is still the only one growing in this economy and BMW is smartly filling gaps that have KTM dealers.

There are still folks out there looking for radical enthusiast bikes, that don't care what they cost, or that there are simpler alternatives.

Having worked at an adventure touring aftermarket shop I think that brushed aluminum might be roughly similar to chrome for some folks.
 
It's interesting how the European MFGs have done well inspite of things, and the Japanese are in hunker down mode. The Euros have introduced some amazing bikes for this season, where as companies like Suzuki aren't even bringing new models for '10 into the US. Once the economy gets better it will be interesting so see if the change continues.
