Re: Clutch how to remove basket? Help

Here's the parts fisch for the clutch:

Yamaha Motorcycle Parts 2007 FZ6 - FZS6W CLUTCH Diagram

If you look at the rear of the main clutch, part #1, you'll see a chain sprocket. There should be a chain on there
going down to the oil pump. That's probably what your hanging up on. There is no tensioner for that chain so gently lift that
off the sprocket and you should be good to go.

May I ask why your going so deep beyond the clutch basket?

You may have to Pull the headers, pan and oil pump.
I'm not sure how you could get slack in chain while its attached to the pump unless you can pull the bearing from the basket and let it settle on the shaft. You may have some wiggle room then.

That ^^^, or try reaching back with a bent, piece of WIRE coat hanger to lift the chain up.

If the chain is stretched/ worn enough, you may have enough play.

Its been done many times, we told you what to do...

If we had an audio video it would have helped diagnose your issue.

Right now, its a good visual check that needs to be done...

If you have the nut off, removing #15 & 16 may get you the slack needed.

What all is removed now? And why are you into the clutch?

Re: Clutch how to remove basket? Help

You drop it already?
If not, you'll have to snake a wire in there to hold it. Its not going to be easy and of greater concern, knowing its actully on the pump before you start it.

Again, the method is header, pan, oil pickup, oil pump, all come off.

Order a new oring for the pump strainer too. If it sucks air you ruin your engine...

Even if i remove somehow that chain on the back, how im going to put it back after ?

that wire should remove chain from the back of clutch basket? from pomp is impassible. i don't relay want to remove all to get there.

Its any chance that basket makeing that puk puk noise? is that small wheel behind for oil pomp chain getting loose ? possible ?

Or the puk puk can be only bearing and all on front - bearings and clutch discs and there is no reason go to back becouse there is nothing what can make that puk noise?

Did your clutch fiber disc blow out?
If NO, I doubt you find anything wrong with the basket.

You imply that when the clutch is being used to take off, it makes a noise. If this is true, look at that small bearing in the top hat #7 in the drawing / clutch cover.

Clean it and do not oil it. Hold the outer race firmly and push on the inner race as hard as you can AND rotate the inner race. IS IT SMOOTH???
Also, spin it with a light load on it. Hold it by item 8 and spin the hat item 9. Is it noisy or quiet? If noisy and rough, it is likely your noise!!! Replace it!!!

Common terms:
Clutch fully engaged. When fully engaged you can accerlate and propel the bike forward. The clutch lever is released.

Disengaged. Clutch lever is pulled in, you may shift from neutral to first or take off from a stop by releasing the clutch!

When does the sound occur? When the clutch is engaged or Disengaged?

DID YOU TEST THE BEARING????

It sounds like it only makes noise under load. What is the condition of your chain and sprockets???

Are all of the clutch discs in one piece????? Need to KNOW this!!!

Have you looked at the front drive sprocket? Remove cover!!!
