I sold my 1976 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special with 2700 original miles for my FZ6. I actually sold it to a private party then bought my FZ. Those were pretty cool motorcycles back then. And way cheap compaired to now days.

I loved my XS400. I built it from the ground up (after figuring out what was under all the pigeon poo in all the boxes I'd been given...lol.) and rode it every day....lol...just like this one:thumbup::D.

Cheers
Mike

I stole them off of Yamaha's site lol... anyway yeah I love the newer bikes but have a huge appreciation for the older ones too!!!

Heres the link: Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. - History

Their history is very interesting to me! my dad has taken a few oldies in trade. lol well to me they are oldies, im only 23..... lol

We have a customer who has a old rz350, amazing 2-stroke bikes!!!

We currently have and just rebuilt a 1975 RD125:
Pic is what it looks like but it is a more fire red...

Pictures really don't do any of these bikes justice.... If they are in good condition they just look awesome!

Yes, yes I do.

Clarity: it isn't mine, but it spent a long time in my possession, and I rode it frequently enough to keep it charged, etc. Those big FJs are fantastic. I hated to see it move on to another home and darn near bought it myself.

very hard to find a decent one with the motor still in it... many of them got parted out for dwarf/legends race cars............

What year is that one? Looks like they did an R6 front brake conversion, nice!

Is something from the 90's really a clasic?

I am defo getting old............................er.

I saw the title of the thread and was thinking R5s and air cooled RDs! Heck the bikes from the '90's are just getting broken in. :D

So if I rode Yamahas when they were new that are 20 years older than the bike at the beginning of the thread, does that make me classic or antique???

Lets see....1993 yr model-20years=1973
This is 2009-1973= 36 years you have been riding.
Wow, Hellgate that would make you an "Antique"
(over 25 years)
Egad.....I'm an Antique too!
