Well I got started on mine tonight. Got the inner fairing pieces removed, lifted the tank, pulled the battery and air box and then opened up the connector. Will finish tomorrow, hopefully.
There was no way I would have been able to do it without removing the air box, I don't see how i would have been able to move the battery box back far enough otherwise. I consider myself to have medium sized hands and even then it was a bit of a pain to get at that connector and get it unplugged. The air box isn't really that hard to get off (though I think Yamaha needs to put more hoses going to it in future models
Just take your time and it will work out pretty well, probably took about an hour to get to where i am now but i was taking it very slow. I've done a fair amount of work on my truck and consider myself to be pretty good at electrical (I'm a EE) but just the idea of tearing into a brand new bike kept me extremely cautious.
Here's a few things I found worked well. Use a pliers to slide back all the hose clamps, you may need a needle nose for the one on the front-right side, an angled one would work even better. I managed to get the long breather hose in the back off before lifting the air box but the other ones were too short. If you have some longer allen wrenches, loosen up the hex screws on the boot of the air box to each throttle body and the air box will lift up much easier. Grab both sides, pulling up one side first then the other and working back and forth and it will come up. Once it's up a little, you should easily be able to remove the 2 short rear hoses and the front one. Hope that helps anyone who's struggling. This mod definitely is very professional but not for the faint of heart.
I have to say though, one thing I like about working on bikes, at least "inside" bikes compared to cars is my little $7 Menards 1/4" drive tool kit is pretty much the only tools I need, plus a pliers or two.
