There is still a very nice yellow FZ1 down here in Tas that I PM'd Jamie about a few weeks back. $9990 with pc3, exhaust and k and N air filter. I think it had about 20 000 kms on it.
Even tempting for me, and I'm broke!!

Sigh. Spoke to the insurance company today re. the buying back of my beast and the price they gave me was IMO a little steep. They won't budge though so I am not too likely to be buying back my bike.
This puts me back at square one as now I'm gonna be stuck with one bike.
Do I get the FZ6, which I do find is lacking the legs required to stay in front of the straight line crew, who quite frankly might as well get off the bike and walk it round corners?...lol...Or do I get the raw grunt of an FZ1 and forget their very existence...lol.
If I get another FZ6 then I'm back to a brand new bike with warranty (not that the warranty was used on my last one), and if I get an FZ1 then it'll be second hand and most likely out of warranty.
Good Mike and Evil Mike are both looking battered and bruised but neither will bow...It's likely to be a fight to the death now.
It's so even I may have to resort to the old tried and true, decision making machine.......The humble coin...lol.

A black and naked FZ1 blew me away on Hanson Rd last night........damn it looked hot ...............get the FZ1 Mikey :thumbup:

You can buy an aftermarket warrantee if its really a factor in the decision.
I think you have already made up your mind to get the FZ1 as you seem to have outgrown the FZ6.

If you take a look at the aftermarket warranties they are really terrible value, the one I looked at for extending my factory warranty was a joke, the limitations on claiming, be it what can be claimed too how much where pathetic and in the end you would be better saving that initial outlay and getting things repaired properly.
Not to mention reading all the fine print I would have bet a $50 that if you tried to claim anything it wouldn't 'fit the requirements' blah blah.
That being said dealers seem really desperate now to sell the older bikes, how about looking at an 08 FZ1 (new), might be able to get a good deal? I know I saved a heap by doing that, and if any dealer in your area still has a 08 FZ1 I imagine they would be really keen to be rid of it....
I heard in an article that bike sales are down 13% this year afterall (scooters down 40% lol!)

What year model did you end up getting? There has been a yellow and black FZ1 at one of my local dealers for a while and I swear its actually lower and smaller than the FZ6. Well its wider with all that engine but smaller in most other respects

Haven't got it yet. Still need to add some dosh to insurance money for that.:thumbup:

There could be a real market for aftermarket seats made especially to incorporate both
