My experience with First Gear Heated Gloves, they only warm on the upper portion of the fingers. Unless you combine them with heated grips, it will not keep your hands very warm. I have mittens currently installed over my controls, so it helps shields the wind, so I have discovered a combination that works.
But as far as the quality, mine ripped the very fist time I tried to strap my cover over the Velcro for my gloves. I guess I'm too use to being much more aggressive on my Motoport Kevlar Gloves. Cycle Gear exchanged them immediately but I am much more careful whenever I put them on. And I have zero faith in these glove as far as protection in the event of a crash, but at this point in time, it's not about the abrasion strength, it's about providing heat. Down into the single digits for my morning commutes these days in boring Idaho.
