Re: error code 33 cylinder #1 and 4
This is my first time on forum.
Sorry for my english.
After 42000 km and two years my Fazer Fz6 s2 on mainroad decised to have a fault code.
Famous code 33 and i'm going with only two cylinders.
Now the people is on holiday and then i'm disassembly the bike.
About the ignition coil , impedence input and output are correctly , and with ac supply , two spark plugs and two wires i see perfectly the sparks (on free air and not about pressure i know).
I'm waiting from ebay an used ignition coil .
The engine at home the day after start only at two cylinders.
I hope to resolve it !

Re: error code 33 cylinder #1 and 4
No good news.
The wires are ok , clean and continuos resistence detect.
Insert four new spark plugs and two used ignition coil.
I've checked all the sensors and all of these are efficient.
Then i've tested the two ignition coils (the original) in the dark and with a gap of 6 millimiters and two spark plugs ; tha arc is perfectly visible (i suppose trouble, all the ignition coils are efficienty ! ).
I'm mounting all parts but ....same error code 33.
Now i sconnect various sensors , turn the key at on and on lcd meter appare various error code , that means that the ecu software is active and detect runtime , then restore the sensors and error code 33 is here.

A new ecu ,,,boh!

From 27 August the bike is at Yamaha Center !
Thanks Yamaha for the europe assistance , three years at all , free shipping the bike !
Only to 14 February 2013 the warranty.
The mechanic has never had a case like this.
Now the engine stop at all , not more two cylynders ...zeros cylynders now.
Wiring ok , ignition coils ok , sensors ok and i am waiting a new ecu.
From Yamaha manual about error 33 the last indication is a malfunction in a component of cutoff system .
What does it mean ?:(

I'm sorry to hear about your bike.
Fault Code: 33
Diagnostic Code: 30
Symptom: Open circuit is detected in the primary lead of the ignition coil (# 1, #4).
Probable cause of malfunction:
Open circuit in wiring harness.
Malfunction in ignition coil.
Malfunction in ECU.
Malfunction in a component of ignition cut-off circuit system.

I hope you are able to get it fixed soon. Please let us know what the problem was and how it was fixed.

Today 21 October 2012 the bike is functionally 100%.
After a mounth i suppose no bugs on the sensors or electric cable.
About 1200 km from 20 September 2012 , at work in the city , on mainroad , little offroad, no problem anymore.

Thinking about what happened to me for about a year with the old control engine idling was erratic and the adjusting screw of the same ineffective.
With the new control unit the minimum is regular and is sensitive to the adjustment screw.
If you can 'serve as a warning as to other users.

:( Ahi ahi Yamaha .................28 December 2012 , i'm changing the tyres and ....incredible th e engine stop again on the road , the same problem of August 2012 , i suppose with a new ecu my bike is perfect but it's not true.
I take error code 34 , i want to change the bike but the dealer give me a low price.
So i'm learning the service manual and at least i see the end !
Error 34 malfunction of cutoff system and ..... i open the sidestand switch , there is water inside.
Change it and now the bike has also to 4000 rpm a ready response.
I write this text to suppose a little help for the biker of forum.

Regards.
