Thank you all for your help. Yesterday I dropped off the new battery to retailer for load testing. Got a call that it had failed testing and they believed it to have a bad cell and condemned the battery, replaced under warranty.
I picked up the new battery today, installed it, and the bike cranked right up. No errors, not funniness. Once again, thank you for the time and help you offered! Happy to say everything is working so far!
