as the title says i hear and feel a click when i push down on the handlebars. is this normal? im thinking its supposed to be a smooth motion. no click! i checked the forks theyre not leaking oil. i dont do wheelies on my fz6 but i do brake really hard, go over hills like racers in the isle of man, hit the twisties 3x a month, and put on < 14k miles since march 2011.

i swapped the stock springs to hyperpro springs with a 15w oil in april 2011 so the oil is about 2 seasons old...

i checked the steering head bearings no clicking there...its definitely coming from the forks

before pulling the forks and opening em' up what do you guys think this problem is?

is it a stuck/ broken seal? (doubt it bc its not leaking oil)
should i just swap the oil and hope for the best?
is it a bushing on the top fork leg?

How hard do you have to push down to get the noise? How loud? What part of the forks? Any chance you can get a video of it?

What'd you use for spacer upon fork reassembly? Any chance it was PVC? I'm guessing not but if its not the head bearing/stem i'd be opening them up and taking a look.

Does it still have the same sag / ride height it had before? It could have broke a coil but you won't know until you look. A good reason to check the sag upon completion of work so you have record of change should you need to compare present to the past. . .

im pretty sure it was a pvc... im goin to check sag now and pull everything out when i get back from work

not hard at all..it sounds like a thud coming from the middle lower part of the forks..ill try to get a video but my gas swishing around might over power the sound.

Well - that PVC may have given way. - I'd pull them and dump out the springs and spacer and see what comes of it. You don't want to score the internals if something broke and is floating about in there as it could end badly. . .
