On iphone 4:

- ZumoCast (free): my favorite application by a mile. I can stream ANY media from my home computer to my iphone, no matter where I am. MP3, Pictures, and any type of video file (Zumocast will compress the video appropriately, depending on whether you're on 3G or Wifi). Amazing app.

- RDP Lite (free): login my home PC from anywhere in the World (works flawlessly). Seeing your home PC screen on your iphone from anywhere is pretty cool... the interface is very easy to use and it simply works. I can turn on the music in my home from work or send myself an email if I forgot a file at home or fix an issue my wife is having or whatever...

- Mobile Air Mouse ($2): air mouse, mouse pad, keyboard, program launcher, multimedia remote....etc...etc... it works over your home wifi router. My PC is in the office and hooked up to the 52" TV in the living room via HDMI... so I can sit in my couch in the living room and use my iphone as a wireless mouse/keyboard/remote for my PC. Works flawlessly.

- Remote: control itunes over WIFI on your iphone... preparing the BBQ in the backyard and want to listen to another album? no problem...

- Other app I use often: textPlus4 (free unlimited SMS/MMS), SkyGrid (news RSS), Tactical Flash (sweet flashlight that uses the iphone4'S LED flash), eBuddy (consolidates all your messengers into 1: I run msn/gmail chat/facebook on it), GyroSynth (sick music gadget that uses the iphone4 gyroscope)

I am curious to see what Android users get.....

I'm using Android on a HTC EVO

- ConnectBot - this is a ssh terminal client that allows me to secure shell into my servers at work. It has saved my ass quite a few times. I fixed an email server while sitting in a casino in Vegas. :)

- Paper Toss - A time-wasting game of tossing a paper wad into a trash can. Trick is that there is a fan blowing and you have to toss the paper at the correct angle to make it into the can.

- TapaTalk ($3) - A nice app to interact on the FZ6 Forum. Worth the $3!!

- DropBox - Allows you to grab files off of your DropBox cloud storage account.

- NagBot - Tells me when one of my servers is having problems. Interfaces with our Nagios monitoring system at work. Very helpful.

Hey Geoff! What's Mywi 4.0? (I am not jailbroken - yet :))... and how do you like ITeleport? I went with RDP Lite because it's free, but it looks like ITeleport has quite a lot more options...

MyWi allows you to share you 3G/GPRS/EDGE connection as a wifi hotspot. It drains the battery faster than anything but if plugged in, it's a great little app. I find it handy when out with the ipad (wifi only) and want decent real estate for browsing.

Just remember the battery level warning and also the iphone gets HOT!

Like the other guy said, Mywi shares the connection for the phone to any device. Pretty much it creates an Ad-hoc mode connection between it and the device. Jailbreak is pretty simple for now. I jailbroke my iphone 4 and its works great for that.

I teleport is great, its not superfast, but I got it because one of my students gave me a $25 Itunes card for Christmas last year so I bought it with that. I use it for starting downloads when im not home on my main computer and installing updates or if I need to send something to myself from the big computer. Its not something you would want to watch video through or type reports. After all can you imagine a 1920x19** resolution on an Iphone? It worth the money if you use it a lot. I use it a couple times a week but nothing major. A lot of my online games have weekly updates. I also use it to work on other people's computers. You must have a gmail account in order yo use it.

Got any questions just PM me or send it here.

Thanks, that's actually the main reason I'd like to jailbreak, to be able to tether through the Iphone (without having to pay AT&T)... any other advantage of jailbreaking (other than the option to get free software)?

I just watched the San Marino GP during my lunch break :D file is on my computer and Zumocast streamed it over 3G... no lag at all and great quality :cheer:

You jailbroke your iphone 4? I thought it wasn't possible yet? what iOS were you on when you jailbroke? I read that they already hacked 4.1, but the jailbreak package isn't ready yet, or am I missing something? :)

Ah yeah on previous iOS... I am already on 4.1 :(

But it looks like even 4.1 will be jailbroken soon (and it sounds like even Apple won't be able to patch that one...)

Apple is always will leave a door open for JBreaking. They close one door and another will open. I will upload my pics of phone tonight :)

This is my kind of thread!

Well, with all the app I'm reading here, I guess I'm not even using 1/4 of the iPhone :(

What I did recently is that I replaced the screen (3Gs) and it is working great!!!! I got the replacement for less than $15!!!!

The apps I regularly use are:
Formula1 2010 (race weekend - live timing)
CNN
Bank of America
NASA (it recently added live streaming)
FL Radars (I think it was about $1)

Tapatalk (about $3 and I got it to try to keep up with this forum!!!)
Facebook
Amazon
Craiglist

Some navigation apps:
MapQuest : still needs work, but pretty good
skobbler : I have only used it like twice, it seems promising

New/radio:
RMC (sport's French radio)
Rai (Italian radio)
Eurosport

HHHUUUUUMMMMM, I guess I forgot how to count up to five :spank:

I haven't tried tapatalk, guess I'll buy it.

It is faster to keep up with a Thread.

You can do searches (I have not used this a lot)

You can only upload one picture at a time

You can not use "Thank".

They have been improving it since I first got it.

You might want to download a free "limited" version, and see how do you like it
