Does anyone use Lithium Battery for our bikes?
It looks like BS brand makes one around $120 (link below)
Advantages and disadvantages?
Any recommendations?
Can i use a regular battery charger or do i have to buy special charger for it?

I use LFP batteries in all 7 of my bikes.

Advantages:
- Light weight
- Holds a starting charge for about over 9 months (only lose 1% charge per month vs 1% per day)
- Over 13VDC static state for faster starts
- LFP is stable with limited ability for thermal runaway.

Disadvantage
- A total discharge renders the battery to useless
- Cost

Be sure to get a battery with a BMS that balances the cells and can turn off the battery before a total discharge (see disadvantage above). Well worth the extra $20-$40.

You don't need a special charger, but if your charger has a desulpherization mode, it must be disabled.

Gary, thanks for the very useful info.
Do you think BS Lityum batteries have that BMS facility?
What brand of battery are you using?
I use optimate 4 for charging and it has some desulpherization mods i guess.

I am brand agnostic because the internal batteries can be sourced from almost anybody, and that's true for the BMS as well. I try to stay with "name brand" batteries because I hope they are using first run/higher grade cells.

You have to check the battery specs on whether or not it has a BMS (battery management system) with a low-voltage cut-off.
