I just got asked to update my site password. Is this a real function here?

I'm just curious, but why is it necessary to update a password every 165 days for a motorcycle forum?

EDIT: I'm mainly worried that this isn't forum related but that I may have a password phishing malware on my PC.

We've had an issue in the past. And you might get a password change request.
Probably not phishing on your end.
