This isn't strictly an FZ6 mod, but bear with me.

I recently bought a 2007 FJR to replace my FZ6. I have a Motodynamic integrated LED brake light installed on the FZ6 and was so convinced of its safety benefits that I wanted to do the same thing on the FJR, but nobody makes that same thing for an FJR.

Google is your friend and I cam across this (Supa Brake 2) from ViziTec.

Some of the features I liked about it was the fact that if it is triggered it has a variable "grace" period between brake applications so that it isn't constantly flashing, but does have a force flash retrigger. This feature also gives out more pulses the longer it has been since the last brake application. It has a "decaying flash" in as much that the flashes get longer as the cycle goes along.

The unit is configurable with both the flash rate and grace period algorithm so if you use incandescent bulbs you can have the flash rate slower (the bulbs don't react as fast !!) and if you use LEDs you can have a faster flash rate. There are 3 settings available for both.

Anyway I ordered one and it came in real fast. Since it comes with both a male and female connector already installed installation truly is plug and play. I removed the side panel, plugged it in and was all done in about 10 mins. Originally I had is set for a slow flash rate, but when I also swapped out the bulbs for LED 1157s I switched to a faster flash rate.

I have emailed back and forward with Bernard that runs Vizi-tec and he is extremely helpful if you have any questions. If you use the code KXX5TS you should get 20% off your order.

I have no commercial connection with this company, but their product is easy to install, works and they are offering a discount.

Here's a couple other options for brake light modulators, I've used a few of them.

Brake Light Strobe Module | Emergency Vehicle & Strobe Lights | Truck/Trailer | Super Bright LEDs
- direct 2-wire splice in-line to V+, for LED's only, due to high flash rate. 20 flashes in 2 seconds, then solid on. Have this one on my FZ6 and my DR350 (but the one on my DR350 died after a couple months, but I did screw with it a bit prior to installing)

Brake Light Strobe Module | Emergency Vehicle & Strobe Lights | Truck/Trailer | Super Bright LEDs
- Splice in-line, plus additional ground needed. 4 fast flashes in 0.4 seconds, then 4 slow flashes in 2.6 seconds. Never used this one because I don't like that flash option.

Lighting Control Modules - Flashing Brake Lights - Signal Dynamics
- one of these came on my CBR when I bought it, not sure which model, but Flashes about 5 times in 5 seconds, then solid on. Seemed to be a split-second delay between when activating and when the lights initially go on.

Universal Car Auto Flash Controller for LED Brake Light Stop Flasher 6 24V | eBay
- Similar to the backoff, but flashes slightly faster, probably about 5 flashes in 4 seconds, then solid on. (Would probably be good for LEDs and Incandescents.) The first flash seems slightly longer than the next 4. Also has a "reset" timing, so if you let off the brakes then back on within 5 seconds or so, it doesn't flash, just solid on. Two wire, just splice in line V+. Ebay from China, so who knows about consistency from one to the next, but I was impressed by the quality of the one I got.

Goop has one on his Triumph Speed Triple and I can attest that evry time he hits the brake it draws my attention.

Great product! Especially being plug-n-play and the nifty flashing algorithm. I also interacted with Bernard, sending pics of the wire harness when he wanted to verify that the connectors would fit my S3. Just for that he gave me 15% off for my trouble (which was no trouble at all!).
