Yet another FZ6 revival

Good day to you all
I have another on going project
Bringing this neglected bike to life again
2005 FZ6
Blown head gasket
no wonder why they've rebuilt the engine not replacing the head gasket instead they used RTV
And 2 sparklug holes stripped
sourced another Cylinderhead
Lapped the valves
Valve lash setting
New head gasket
New valve seals
Cyl head resurfaced
Rebuilt starter motor

Still waiting for new fuel pumo and filter
For the mean time ive used my own fuel tank

A little more steps and she will be back on the road!

Heres the first start up making sure it runs before i put everything back

First warm up and idling
Just water for the mean time
New radiator hose and radiator cap need replacing

Just a bit more tinkering

Looks like the bike is also going from gray to orange.

RTV on a head gasket? I would be suspect of the other work performed on the engine rebuild if the last mechanic thought it was OK to use RTV on the head gasket.

Good thing is bottom end isnt touched by the previous mechanic.

They've rebuilt the engine not touching the water pump, thats where the leak is not the HG, then they rode it and overheated

As for the color the owner said he wants to restore it back to original color

He also have another fz6 thats not running
I guess another project for next time!

Ill keep posting and keep this forum, ive been to other forums and it feels like its dead

Fuel pump motor and regulator arrived today.
Missing part inside the fuel pump assy. Managed to find one that will fit. Its a small piece of plastic that holds the Oring in place between the two halves of fuel pump housing.
Tank full of rust, cleaned and sprayed with iron phosphate to protect from rusting again.
Dried and then rinsed with gasoline

Viola! She's alive!

The filter sock was gone, fuel pump sucked it clogged also the injectors was clogged aswell
